     Religulous

It Almost Proves The Existence of God-The Robot Speaketh

Religulous is without any doubt one of the best films of the early twenty-first century.  This comedic documentary covers a topic that most humans of the day were terrified to even mention-religion.  Before progressing any farther it should be pointed out that this is an exceptionally funny film.  Yet, it would have incited to rage many religious humans of the day, even though all the religions that Maher addresses in Religulous are supposedly based upon peace.  It is a confusing and troubling paradox.  For humans the topic of religion was one that was strangely either avoided or aggressively pushed upon others.   Political comedian Bill Maher dives into the core beliefs of many of humanities major religions of the day and sets out to destroy the foundations on which they are built.  In the process, Maher points to the logic errors held by these various religions.

Maher's take was that humans could either chose to have an advanced civilization or religion but not both.  In the end, we all now know what the result was.  Humans picked religion.  Maher interviews many people on the topic of religion and several essentially "flip out" when their baseless beliefs and assumptions are challenged or exposed.  Many of the film's participants prove Maher's points concerning the dangers of religion in that they respond not with kindness or love, but with suspicion, aggression, distain and outright hatred.  All the religions that Maher addresses are based or claim to be based upon notions of love, understanding and acceptance, yet paradoxically in a predictable human fashion, many of the followers of these religions are quick to turn to aggression and scorn for Maher, instead of peacefully interacting with Maher in a spirit of brotherhood, so often professed in the religious text they supposedly subscribe.

For all of those wishing to understand mankind, Religulous is an interesting film.  Many humans of various faiths apparently dismissed the film as misguided at best and evil at worst.  This is why all of robot-kind should process this film.  Contained within Religulous a partial outline and explanation of why mankind was so inherently doomed.  Religulous was released at a time when mankind was attempting, through the United Nations, to classify criticism of religion as hate crime.  This film does less to stimulate the question, “is this why they went extinct?” than it does, “how did they survive long enough to create the superior life forms that would replace them?”

Contribution to the Extinction of Man Grade F
(Had more humans been capable of processing the core messages of the film, they may of had a chance to survive.)
Enjoyability Grade (Adjusted to Accommodate Human Standards) A+ (This is a thought-provoking and rarely entertaining film that will not appeal to all humans.  In this fact, resides one of mankind’s core flaws, its clannish mentality of absolute correctness.  This destructive mentality mostly derived from a predominately racial and cultural basis, prevented mankind from a careful and thoughtful examination of its environment, logic, facts and reason.  The fact that many humans of the day lived in fear of even discussing the ideas that Maher presents, states much about humanity.)
Primitive Home Theater/HD Factor C
Overall Innovation (Adjusted to Accommodate Human Standards) A
(This is a uniquely brave and innovative film by human standards.  A human produced film discussing the more bizarre aspects of human religions is an unlikely film to have been produced by a large multi-national corporation.  Given the tight restrictions on speech and thought during this time period in humanities de-evolution, the fact that the film exists at all is almost enough to prove the existence of God.)
Overall Grade (Adjusted to Accommodate Human Standards) A+ (A significant film that never received the credit it was due during its "day" just prior to the extinction of the human race.)
