Lebanon and Off
Music video for Beaches of the Proud
Directed by Megan Faye
A teddy bear falls to the floor, which starts a surreal and unpredictable series of events. This culminates in a conflict between the peace loving teddy bears and some bad-ass robots.
Music video for track "Lebanon and Off" by Glasgow electronic act "Beaches of the Proud."

Short Biographies:

Megan Faye
After graduating from the Sculpture course at Glasgow School Of Art in 2006, Megan worked briefly in Floristry. This was quite a contrast from previously working with new media and her artwork started shifting towards use of more traditional mediums. Recent drawings and paintings were inspired by natural forms and electrical circuits (“Plants and Wires Series”).
Whilst working with New Media for her degree, she produced synchronized audiovisual installations using a mix of analogue and digital technologies. These explored the relationship between music and image through video projection and multi screen installation.
Early stop animated videos (“Natural Unnatural”, “All This Packaging”), had an emphasis on synchronization and soundtrack (“Ruthless Traffic”). With her artwork moving towards drawn forms of expression, hand drawn animation seemed like a natural progression of her style and influences, fitting both her imagination for narrative and preference for more traditional styled animation.
Megan is currently working with Drawing, Painting and Animation and is in the process of launching ‘Natural Unnatural Designs’ to accommodate the more commercial side of her practice.

David Webster
Beaches of the Proud is an ambient electronic act formed in 2006 by Dave Webster, the former singer and guitarist from Glasgow band The Makos. Having received a lot of praise for the early releases which emerged from The Makos sessions, the confidence grew sufficiently to transform Beaches of the Proud into an individual entity and regular Glasgow live act.
The album ‘Veils’ utilizes swirling soundscapes to journey through cut-up electronica (such as on “Lebanon and Off”), dark Mogwai-style guitar pieces (“Never Darken My Door Again”) and gentle, twinkling natural sounds (“The Cygnus Loop”). Influences include Boards of Canada, Sigur Ros, M83, Mogwai, Orbital, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Four Tet, Mum, Explosions in the Sky etc.
Beaches of the Proud is currently playing live regularly in Central Scotland, won King Tuts’ Your Sound in March 2007, and is looking for representation to take the next step.
"As soaring and celestial as Boards of Canada playing on a balloon ride to Atlantis" - METRO
"You can hear the heart and passion in the recording, it has a life that most electronica lacks. If folk noir and antifolk have an instrumental counterpart this is it." - FATEA
