Theodore Collatos, Writer, Director, Camera, Editor, Producer

Theodore Collatos’s award winning short “Solitaire”, broadcast on PBS and is described by critic Ray Pride as “Edgy and off-kilter”, other award winners include “Vampires Die” and “Walking Dead” which aired on the IFC Channel. His work has been screened in New York City, Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C., Portland OR, Gainesville GA, and in Alaska at Anchorage and Haines as well as international festivals in Iceland, Hungry, Germany and Mexico. He’s shown theatrically at Images Cinema in Williamstown. Collatos has recently debuted his feature documentary “On Point", shot in Brazil about a major dance competition and seminar, at The Bucharest Int. Film Festival where it was selected “In Competition.” His feature narrative “The Chosen One” a cutting edge horror fantasy has also debuted at The Northhampton Film Festival. His photography has been exhibited in solo and group shows in galleries and alternative spaces in Boston, Chicago, Berlin and The Berkshires. Currently, Collatos is finishing editing “Move” his new feature documentary about Kevin Iega Jeff and Deeply Rooted Dance Theater.

 

CAST AND CREW

LEAD ACTRESS, Stephanie Mace
Stephanie got her start at the Annoyance Theatre in Chicago later studying at the Steven Ivcich Studio. She has appeared on a Smashing Pumpkins tour, numerous short films from NYU, Northwestern and Columbia College. Solitaire is her second collaboration with Theodore Collatos. Mace currently has a small role in Jane Campion’s latest film .

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, Marie Frick
Marie, a German native, came to United States to work in the film industry in 1995. She has directed several short films and one short documentary. Some of her other credits include Production Manager on Comedy Centrals I’m With Busey, 2nd Assistant Director on Project Green Light’s film entitled Stolen Summer and was producer on Flying, IFP Midwest’s $40,000.00 Grant award wining project which premiered at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival. She lives and works in Los Angeles.

CINEMATOGRAPHER, Eric Wheeler
Eric Wheeler began studying film in high school before entering Northwestern University’s film program in the 1990’s. At the same time he began working in the industry as a professional, he entered the film program at Columbia College Chicago where he majored in film with a concentration in cinematography. Working almost exclusively in the film format, Eric has over a dozen film shorts to his credit. In addition he has lensed music videos and one commercial. He is currently working in Los Angeles.
