Apocalypse Films Pty Ltd began in 2002 after a group of VCA Film School
graduates renovated a 100 year-old warehouse in the inner-city suburb of
Clifton Hill. Four years on and the company is owned and operated by two of
the original members, Jim Xyga and Andrew O'Keefe.
The company was formed with the long term goal of producing feature-length
films and a four year plan was set in place. Apocalypse Films short-term aim
was to capture a portion of the advertising / corporate video market to
firmly establish a financial, technical and personnel base from which films
could be produced.
The team have also independently produced their own short films which have
screened at many of Australia's major festivals including Tropfest,
Flickerfest and the St. Kilda Film Festival.
In late 2007, Apocalypse Films will release their debut feature film, The
Independent.
