Filmmaker Biography

Adam & Evan Beamer, brothers since birth, are directors living in Burlington, Vermont. Together they've made movies under the guise of El Matador Films (elmatadorfilms.com) since the dawn of the new millennium. To pay the bills they work as both the Creative and Production departments for an ad agency, Mt. Mansfield Media (mtmansfieldmedia.com), in Colchester, VT. There they have the freedom to write, produce, direct, edit and compose for a variety of clients such as The Vermont Lake Monsters and Pool World. They are currently in post-production for their new short entitled, Knock Knock Who's There, a movie about friendship, marijuana, and armed robbery.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

A Brief Case was made in 2006 during winter break. We had access to an office building so we wrote the script with that in mind the week before. Then we packed our sleeping bags and spent the weekend on the floor of a cubicle. It was probably one of the bigger lessons most of us had ever learned about making a movie. It was an official selection of the 2006 Boston International Film Festical, won third place in DVXuser.com's Sci-Fest, and it represents our only attempt at the sci-fi genre. Enjoy.
