Maximum Overdrive

Here Is What You Need To Know:

Maximum Overdrive, how does one explain Maximum Overdrive? Oh, I am not referring to the story, as the "story" is straight forward, preposterous and moronic. Let's not pull any punches Maximum Overdrive is really Moronic Overdrive.

What is hard to explain is how this film was ever made and even more to the point how Stephen King ever thought this was a good idea for a story or a film. Bizarre space radiation hits earth and causes all our machines to come to life and they are blood thirsty. That is actually the plot. King, who also directed the film, tries to save the story at the end with a twist that I won't give away, but it doesn't fly, trust me. If you see it on cable you might enjoy it for the sheer, blindingly amazing stupidity of it all, as Maximum Overdrive does have some laughs. Really want to have some fun? Invite your friends over for movie night and play Maximum Overdrive followed by Barb Wire and Battlefield Earth.

What Was Cool:

-There is only one thing cool about this film, as it shows how far some studio executives are willing to go in order to have a little name recognition attached to a project. Sad.

What Was Stupid:

-Everything in this film was stupid and everything about this film is stupid. This film is stupid.

-Like it is not a bad enough film, King decides to put Emilio Estevez in it. Look macho man you can't act and we all know it. Although he was almost passable in Freejack.

The Film's Real Genius or Geniuses:

-Not Applicable

A Little Fact About Cherie:
I usually don't wear much make up, but I like girls that do.
