Oh my God people. Oh my God. WALL-E is seriously that good. If you haven’t seen this film already, go now, DO NOT WAIT FOR VIDEO. WALL-E is a visually rich movie with a awesome environmental message, that is definitely great fun for big kids and little kids. Every now and again, a film comes along that adults will enjoy every bit as much as children and WALL-E is one of those films. The story of a sad little robot trying to clean cup mankind’s mess while we are all becoming fat pigs in space, well, that is just brilliant. Some are probably going to think that WALL-E goes too far in its rips on gigantic corporations and the ever expanding waistlines of the American public and maybe it does, but its also a lot of fun. Oh, just trust me, it’s a must see.
What Was Cool:
Listen up! Everything about WALL-E is top-notch. I mean everything. The animation is some of the best I have ever seen. The EVE robot looks so it will blow you mind. Do yourself a BIG favor and see WALL-E digitally. I seriously would not see this film any other way. The acting is great and the animators did a genius level job in pulling emotions out of robots that don’t technically have faces. I could go on and on!
What Was Stupid:
Nothing stupid here this time readers, only pure genius.
The Film's Real Genius or Geniuses:
A film this good, took a lot of brilliance from being to end. Do not expect to see another one like WALL-E for a long while. Yes, its that good.
Overlooked Performance/Accomplishment:
Hopefullly no one will be overlooked. I certainly hope this film grabs a whole bunch of awards.
Story A (WALL-E has a great message and the story never drags.)
Use of Science A (I like that the film keeps a young audience in mind and as a result shows that science can do wonderous things but it can also do great harm and can not solve all problems, such as evil hearts and cruel intentions.)
Acting A
Portrayal of Women A (EVE is a great female role model, even if she is a robot. Its kind of weird but I guess that counts.)
Style/Sex Appeal A (Sexy animation for sure.)
Enjoyability Grade A
Home Theater/HD Factor A
Gut Check (Level of Studio Executive Guts) A (Wow people, lets give these Pixar guys some credit. WALL-E is a new project that they put a lot of money into.)
Overall Innovation B+ (The script is really innovative overall, but you do get a little too much of the whole “chase scene” action. This is a minor flaw, but it is there.)
Overall Grade A (WALL-E is just a great film.)
A Little Fact About Cherie: WALL-E was about ten times better than I expected.
