Summary

A slight metallic noise, as of a barbed object dragged on the pave, can be heard in the peaceful roads of Pumpkinville. In this small provincial town, life is quiet like a stream in a prairie... but horror can come out from every fence cheerfully painted, every shiny manhole, or from the well-groomed hedges of the mansion just at the bottom of the street. He’s hungry, irresponsible and will never stop ‘till he gets what he wants... just to start again.

About Jacob

Jacob is a character created by the illustrator Terry Amaini, and has become a feature project thanks to the production company Crackartoons Studios (http://www.crackartoons.com) from Milan. Jacob always hides behind an apparently innocent panda mask. Thanks to it, on Halloween night, he can make any bloody action for his only aim: getting sweets he loves so much. Two guys, John and Jamie, investigate on these murders, but they can never unmask the guilty. In this contest the secondary characters are people living in the peaceful Pumpkinville, set of the story. They all have their own skeleton in their cupboard and their psychosis. Murders are almost never shown directly; the cartoon atmosphere helps make it all a noir funny comedy, where violence gives place to comedy and tragedy to irony. The film gives homage to the slash movies so famous in the ‘80’s.

Terry Amaini Biography

Once he got the Diploma at Art School, he specialized in communication and design at the University of Reggio Emilia where, thanks to his artistic skill, he obtained two financial aids. He moved to Milano and started working for the atelier Celebrity One creating T-shirts. His career continues thanks to his important works for Crackartoons Studios as a concept designer, art director and director. Among his projects we can mention commercials for Fendi, EcoLucart and Madigan. More relevant those for Seven and Sky Sport, both awarded with the Key Award for animation, as well as the pilot episode of The adventures of Nanà selected at 2003 Annecy official competition .

He created the project of Jacob, invented the characters and cooperated writing subject and screenplay of the feature film. Jacob’s comics have been published by XL, the magazine belonging to the second most popular Italian newspaper (La Repubblica) – officially presented at Lucca Comics & Games 2007.
