Chicago-At Least There Was No Julia Roberts
The remarkably imaginative title only scratches the surface of this wonderful film. Those of you who are frequent readers know I am full of crap right now, don't you?
Yeah, I hate musicals, not as much as Julia Roberts vehicles, but musicals are pretty high up there. Its not that I am barbaric he-man that is too afraid to show his feminine side because he is really a closet case, no, I just hate musical, even musicals that sell $300 mil in tickets, which is what this flick did! I just can't believe that.
Chicago, takes place in Chicago in the 1920's, but was filmed in Toronto. Now, that is funny. I sat through the film, I gave it a honest, fair chance, but it was painful. Not Julia Roberts painful, but painful. Sometimes, if you have nothing nice to say, its best to say nothing at all. I just don't get the point of musicals, never have, probably never will. Consider this a mini-review. I know it won awards, I know its suppose to be great, but no thanks. The only reason I made it out alive is that it did not have Julia Roberts in it, otherwise...
