The Ten
After seeing all of the previews I decided I had to go see The Ten. Based on the ten commandments, this movie tells a different story for each commandment, trying to explain each one and showing the consequences of breaking them.
This movie was brilliant! It took the literal meaning of each commandment and basically turned it on its head, which I loved. Commandments about infidelity took on a more modern version than those possibly originally intended. This modern take made for lots of entertainment and plenty of unexpected surprises.
Not only would I recommend this movie to anyone but I
would almost require it. I give The Ten on overall grade of A.
Warning: Due to its topic matter and the manner in which those topics are explained and illustrated, it could be potentially offensive to people who are very religious.
The Ten recieves an overall grade breakdown as follows:
Story: A+. Absolutely brilliant! Such a fun and silly way to interpret each commandment.
Acting: B. A bit campy but it went well with the stories.
Visuals: B. Basic and simple, nothing extreme, but again, went well with the movie.
Originality/Innovation: A+. Too original for words. Took every
commandment and how you would think it would be explained, and turned it completely on it's head in the most bizarre, unique and original way. Excellent!
Enjoyability grade: A+. I can't remember when I laughed this hard at another movie.
Overall grade: A. This is a gotta see, must see, need to see movie! Hands down, one of the absolute best movies I have ever seen. Funny, smart, witty, silly, goofy and highly enjoyable. Something for everyone.
