Stay Alive
Always looking for that thrill you get from a good horror movie, I rented
Stay Alive hoping to find it. I may not have found the full thrill, but I
was entertained.
Stay Alive is about a group of teenagers who must fight for their lives when
the video game they are playing starts to become reality. Suddenly they are
chased and hunted by an evil woman who tortures and kills those who enter
her 'game world.'
Overall, this was a pretty cool movie. The story, while not entirely
original (there are a lot of video-game-gone-crazy movies out there) was
entertaining and moved fast enough that I didn't find myself bored. Though
there was nothing I could say was exceptional about this movie, I would
recommend it. It you just want a low-key, simple movie to watch on a quiet
night in, Stay Alive is worth the rental fee.
I would give Stay Alive a grade of B.
Stay Alive grade breakdown as follows:
Story: B. Simple, short and good.
Acting: B. No one was particularly amazing nor horribly bad. But as with
any horror movie, does the acting really matter? No.
Visuals: A. There were some very scary scenes and a few very disturbing
shots. Very clever and cool to watch.
Originality/Innovation: B. There are other movies like this out there, but
this one was a lot more fun than most of those.
Enjoyability grade: B. Again, not blown away but certainly worth a watch.
Overall grade: B. I liked it and would, with a group of people next time,
watch it again sometime.
DVD extras: Nothing amazing to note, which was a shame with a movie like
this.
