Dark Water

I decided to rent the movie Dark Water.  I had seen the previews and thought it would be pretty decent.  I was way, way wrong!

The story revolves around a mother and daughter who move into a seedy apartment building with a dark past that begins to torment these new residents.  Think Panic Room and The Ring meets The Forgotten.  In other words, major suckage.

It wasn't until an hour in that ANYTHING happened.  Oh sure, there was talking, walking and a lot of staring and screaming into space (the mother has some mental health issues) but aside from those "action-packed" sequences, this movie was like a visual valuum.  I got so bored I actually stopped it, left the house and went out to dinner and shopping for a few hours.  I only finished it out of pure stupid curiousity.

The acting was poor, the concept the pointless and the ending was appauling.   It isn't the worst movie I have seen this year, but I would certainly warn anyone with a paulse against watching it, since it could lead to death due to excessive boredom.  I would give Dark Water an overall grade of D.

Dark Water would get a grade breakdown as follows:

Story:  C.  The story itself was alright, in concept.

Acting:  C.  Poor, at best.

Visuals:  C.  Nothing happened to give me visuals.

Originality/Innovation:  D.  Nothing happened, hardly original.

Enjoyability grade:  D-.  Any movie I stop to go to dinner and shopping, not really enjoyable, is it?

Overall grade:  D.
