Artist Biography

Vidal Perez was born in Mexico City, Mexico in October 18, 1979. From 1999 to 2004 he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at “The School of The Art Institute of Chicago” concentrating on stop motion animation, and painting. While in Chicago, Vidal Perez completed three stop motion films: “Calaveras” (2000), “Anatomica” (2001) and “The Dwelling of Death” (2003).


            Vidal Perez is currently enrolled in the animation graduate program at The University of Southern California where he has completed three films: “En La Frontera” (2004) a stop motion animated film. “Homage Film for Ray Harryhausen” (2004) commissioned by the Division of Animation and Digital Arts for the visit of Ray Harryhausen to the school. And “Supenova” (2006) which is his first computer animated short. Vidal has worked professionally doing animation for music videos for artists such as Death Cab for Cutie and Bigg Steele.
