Synopsis:

From award-winning writer/director Brad Spencer, comes a visually stimulating film that straddles the line between fantasy and reality. MONROE is cool and confident as he travels to Brooklyn and meets LIV, a desperate bartender in a particularly painful career lull. As they dance through a first encounter and rub up against a disgruntled manager (played with humorous frustration by Nick Gregory), we are witness to a mysterious figure who is either about to enlist his biggest fan or be the unwitting agent of his own downfall.

Throughout the piece, intermittent comic book pages make it feel like you’re watching a graphic novel come to life, playing itself out on two levels. With calculated camera work and a feisty soundtrack, the live action feels at times like a sexy thriller, then a poignant music video (showcasing new artist Meiko) then a metaphysical drama - all woven together to create an experiment with magical realism that asks us what we are willing to tolerate in pursuit of our dreams and shows us how dangerous complacency can be when it turns incendiary.

Brad (aka b radical) first began working in the entertaining industry at 20 years old in the Columbus music scene as a recording engineer (and producer) for the indie label, Sisapa Records. He them moved into acting and appeared in THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. Inspired by the time spent working with actor, Morgan Freeman, and Director, Frank Darabont, Brad set his sights on Hollywood. It was there that he spent an informative four years in visual effects, working on feature films such as VOLCANO, FACE/OFF, THE X-FILES and TITANIC.

Having such a broad range of experience made directing, writing & producing inevitable. With producing partner Eric K. George, he worked on several projects including music videos, a short film series, and the award winning B.E.T. series, The New Teen Summit. Brad was the sole screenwriter with 2 nominated scripts, THE PACKAGE and SOUL SEARCHER, in the Best Screenplay Competition at HYPEFEST, 2003.

His award-winning short film THE PACKAGE delivered on the festival circuit where it played around the globe including the prestigious Boston and Tribeca festivals. The film stars Richard T. Jones (Vantage Point), Marsha Thomason (Lost), James Lesure (Las Vegas) and stand-up comedian Darrel Heath. Brad hopes to bring the feature version of THE PACKAGE to the big screen very soon. In the mean time, Brad has taken on directing duties at CBS’s hit show BIG BROTHER & VH1’s VIVA HOLLYWOOD to pay the bills while he continues to work on innovative independent films.
