Musical Artist Biography:
Originating from Holland, singer/songwriter Laura Jansen has garnered a following not only in her current home of Los Angeles, but throughout the country, and across the internet, with her contagious piano melodies. Director Brooke Hanson Biography:
Forbidden from watching MTV as a child, young Brooke would pretend to change the channels back and forth across the station in order to catch a glimpse of Debbie Gibson belting out Electric Youth. The format mesmerized her then, and now has become one of her passions—an unparalleled conduit of music, film, and visual art.
Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago and Kansas City, Brooke started her journey as an artist in the worlds of music and theater. Her favorite activities included singing along with her “Star Studio” boom box (a harbinger of modern karaoke), and choreographing dances in her neighbor’s basement to C&C Music Factory. Her flute playing even earned her the title of “Musician of the Year” at her high school, and a spot on stage at Carnegie Hall with the Kansas City Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Currently, Brooke is finishing her MFA narrative thesis film Borderless (www.borderlessthemovie.com) at the University of Southern California. Brooke earned a BA cum laude in American Studies from Stanford University in 2002.
She has recently joined House of Waterman (www.houseofwaterman.com) for music video representation.
