Untamed Heart
Marisa Tomei plays Caroline, a waitress who has horrible luck with boyfriends. Also at the diner where Caroline works, is Rosie Perez. Perez plays Cindy who is Caroline’s best friend and Christian Slater also works at the diner and plays a dishwasher named Adam. Do you by any chance remember back in the day when Slater was a huge heartthrob? Untamed Heart, it should be said, was produced during that time period. Try to keep this in mind. Well in this movie Slater’s character is a shy guy that most women would consider a weird, creepy little fellow. Adam’s story is that he is an orphan with a heart condition. He was told all his life that he had a baboon’s heart. So that’s his life story.
One day Caroline is walking home and is attacked by a couple of guys who previously harassed her at the diner. A stranger who just happened to be in the vicinity miraculously saved her. She soon comes to and notices it was Adam who has rescued and brought her home. Immediately the two form a friendship that turns into love and Caroline is able to bring life into Adam while he is restoring her confidence in men.
I’m not going to spoil the rest of the movie for you so, just rent it if your looking for a good romantic story. But I will tell you that it is well worth the rent. What I loved about this film and why I included it on my holiday countdown is that it was an original love story.
This movie centers on love and the Christmas spirit. Case in point, there’s a scene where Caroline previously told Adam how she loves Christmas trees. Then one morning she wakes up to find a decorated Christmas tree in the middle of her room. Adam broke his way into her room with a tree, decked it out with lights and ornaments and didn’t even wake her up. Lucky for Adam, she had no problem with this and didn’t call the cops, but its still quite romantic. At first it might sound weird but after you watch that scene all the women are going to wish they had a man just as sweet as Adam. I know I did. I believe that this is the perfect way to spend a night in front of the fireplace and snuggled up with your man. This is my gift to all the women out there so enjoy!
