Snakes on a Plane

I’m a huge fan of Samuel L. Jackson, as his strong presence and yelling is enough to drawn me into his movies. What I don’t understand is why he choose to do Snakes on a Plane. Jackson plays Nelville Flynn an FBI agent who is protecting a key witness on a plane headed to Los Angeles and, not surprisingly, this key witnesses is to be assassinated by any means possible. Hence, we have "Snakes on a Plane".

With the outstanding list of credits Mr. Jackson has under his belt, this is the one notch he should have kept undone. Flying on a plane is difficult enough, having snakes on it would just be a catastrophe and doing a movie about it, well, its just a waste of time.

Now I truly believe that the world needs advertising. But advertising is different from hype and clever commercials. After seeing Snakes on a Plane, I now know that the marketing executives at the studio, had no choice but to wrap the film in hype and clever commercials. Honestly, and I know I sound way off here, I was thinking that this film was going to be the start of a G.I. Joes series of movies. Remember that cartoon back in the 80’s? Doesn’t the name Cobra Commander come to mind when you hear "Snakes on a Plane"? Well it did to me. The funny thing is Jackson would have been a perfect Cobra Commander and I bet that the film would have been a whole lot better.

This film had nothing interesting to say, nothing interesting to show. There were just hundreds of computer animated snakes that looked pretty phoney. If only PIXAR could have been tapped for the project, but... The name says it all, as Snakes on a Plane is just that. Snakes on a plane full of passengers and there isn't much originality there, is there? Who wouldn’t act crazy?
